C'est un chèque de la Banque d'Angleterre!

Le poissonnier, en me rendant la monnaie, m'avait donné un billet de 5 bouffé au quart. Et après ça, tout le monde me refusait mon billet... Il m'a donc fallu l'envoyer à la Banque d'Angleterre (un long formulaire et 80p de timbre!), lesquels m'ont donc remboursé avec le chèque correspondant.

It's a check from the Bank of England!

The fishmonger, when giving me my change, gave me an incomplete note (3/4 of a 5 pounds note), and after that no one wanted it. In last resort, I sent it to the Bank of England (with a lengthy form and an 80p stamp!), and they are now reimbursing me.
