Earthquake

That's what's called a lucky moment! I was awake and not moving (although slightly sleepy), when the United Kingdom was shaken by an earthquake of magnitude 5.1. The feeling is very strange, like a quite fast swaying, but not too shaky. I actually wonder if the fact that I am in the 4th floor has removed a few jerks. It went for about 10 seconds, in total silence, then stopped as it has started. I was slightly worried that the ceiling would come crashing on me, and devised to run under the desk should another shake come! A bit later, the BBC confirmed the earthquake.

This morning, I felt quite proud: most of my colleagues did not even know, and anyway, no-one had felt it. That's for going to bed early!

My favourite sandwich shop is carrying on suppressing the sandwiches I like most. The salmon sandwich swam away, and the others are getting weaker by the day (I was told today that the Parma ham was not available any more, but actually there was some (no, I did not understand it all, but I got my sandwich! (that's the most important (no?)))). It's apparently a more global movement, since my official provider of fruits smoothies has changed his menu, and now I fancy only 2 smoothies instead of 4 previously. They put blueberry everywhere, which has a too strong taste that covers everything else, and small remainders of seeds that gets blocked in the teeth.

As a revenge, I buy less smoothies, and I get even on the flans!

The small orchid, on the window border, is now at its second blooming, and is actively preparing the third. As there was a beautiful sunshine, I tested the macro mode on my camera. Here is the full-size result.

The poultry week-end
It was a new thing for me, and it was worth it! Having bought a "wild" duck (a mallard, that the poulterer told me), I roasted it with a stuffing made of its giblets and an onion, with a mix of white wine and lemon at the bottom of the dish. This thing is so good! I also learned a lot on duck anatomy.

Tonight, it was free-range chicken. Feathery week-end!
